Volunteer Committees:

Each Committee includes a minimum of 3 members comprised of the following:

Board members (Committee chair must be a current board member of YSKC)

Executive Director or other staff member
-
At large members/non board members which can include key volunteers and community members that are interested in and/or have experience with fundraising and are passionate about supporting YSKC.

Time Commitment:

2-6 hours per month (total including meetings and events)

Monthly or bi-monthly committee meetings
-

Expectations:
-
Attend regular monthly fundraising committee meetings.

Come to the meetings prepared to participate and engage.

Required Experience:

Must be 18 years or older

General knowledge of Youth Services of Kittitas County

Events/Fundraising Committee
Events and Fundraising Committee members may choose one or both of the focus groups below to participate in under this committee.

Helpful Experience:

Fundraising and event planning and implementation

Understanding of Mentor Programs and Cascade Prevention Coalition

Experience and knowledge of youth substance use prevention and mental health

Events Focus Group
-
Find, create and implement events throughout the County that help spread awareness of Youth Services' Mission and Vision.
-
The Events Focus Group will provide written reports to the full Board of Directors of any actions taken, meetings held, or discussions that have occurred.

With support from staff, annually submit objectives and a work plan for events as part of the planning and budgeting process.

With support from staff, annually evaluate work as a committee and the objectives committed to and report on same to the Executive Director.

Annually, the Events Committee will review the committee work plan and committee membership.
Fundraising Focus Group
-
Review all previous year fundraising activities and make recommendations for improvements for new fiscal year.

Work with fundraising staff/board of directors to determine annual development budget.

Develop an annual calendar for the committee’s activities including critical dates, milestones, and required board actions

Engage in advocacy and networking.

Participate in annual special events and other fundraising activities.
-
Track and report progress toward fundraising goals to the Board of Directors.

With direction of Executive Director, analyze relationships with current and prospective major donors, funders, and corporate sponsors to develop individualized strategies to cultivate or strengthen relationships.

Along with Executive Director, meet with current and prospective major donors and funders (foundations and corporations).

Monitor and support fundraising efforts to be sure that ethical practices are in place, that donors are acknowledged appropriately, and that fundraising efforts are cost-effective.

Provide report out during full Board meetings (Board Chair)
